Verizon dubbed Asia-Pacific ‘Leader’

27 Jan. 2012

Industry analyst firm Gartner Inc. has placed Verizon in the “Leaders” quadrant in the company’s newest report, "Magic Quadrant for Asia/Pacific Network Service Providers."

The report evaluates network service providers offering international network services to multinational companies (MNCs) with regional networks in Asia-Pacific.

Verizon’s Asia-Pacific Vice President Andrew Dobbins said, "2011 was a strong year for Verizon in Asia-Pacific. We significantly strengthened our cloud proposition, and we continue to see strong adoption of our managed services and security solutions, backed by our professional service support.

“With our world-class global network as the essential platform for integrated industry solutions, we are able to play an increasingly critical role in helping our customers transform how they do business," he said.

Positioning in the Gartner Magic Quadrant is based on Verizon’s completeness of vision and ability to execute, which includes several criteria such as customer experience and sales execution/pricing.

Gartner notes "the needs of MNCs have begun to change, and network service providers (NSPs) are making progress toward meeting these needs. Most have rolled out a portfolio of important managed services, including WAN management and optimization, Internet Protocol (IP) telephony, video conferencing, unified communications, and security. Several have also rolled out cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) to further differentiate themselves."
