Tigo to sell towers to Helios Towers Ghana

Millicom International Cellular (MIC) announced its Ghanaian subsidiary Millicom Ghana (Tigo) agreed to sell around 750 towers to Helios Towers Ghana (HTG), a direct subsidiary of Helios Towers Africa, TeleGeography CommsUpdate.

Upon completion of the deal, Tigo will retain a minority interest in HTG. As a further strand to the deal, Tigo Ghana and HTG entered into a long-term leasing agreement in which the latter will provide the cellco with wireless communications towers, including a build-to-suit agreement to support the company’s wireless networks.
