NextiraOne wins Lower Saxony telecoms contract

Communications solutions provider NextiraOne will play a major role in the implementation of new telecoms infrastructure for the German federal state of Lower Saxony, according to TeleGeography CommsUpdate.

The company was selected by nordcom Niedersachsen, a subsidiary of utilities provider EWE Tel, to build, operate and service voice solutions and network infrastructure for 2,150 locations in Lower Saxony.

The project forms part of the implementation of communications network, dubbed the Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen) Next Generation Network (NI-NGN).

The project will modernize the entire telecoms infrastructure of the federal state’s government offices. NextiraOne will connect and service the sites, including 75,000 users, and the central PBX system.
