BTC unveils Metro Ethernet

Bermuda Telephone Company (BTC) officially unveiled a Cisco-based fiber-optic Metro Ethernet network in Hamilton, BerNews reported.

The new network will provide Bermuda businesses improved reliability for their communications needs and maximum transmission speeds of 10Gbps, the company said.

BTC’s Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) certified Ethernet services will provide businesses with scalable capacity to support cloud computing, business continuity/disaster recovery and bandwidth-intensive applications.
