Cablevision to boost broadband speeds

Mexican triple-play provider Cablevision, a unit of Televisa, boosted download speeds available to its high speed Internet customers, Reuters reports, according to TeleGeography CommsUpdate.

Following the lead of the country’s market leader in the broadband sector, Telmex, Cablevision will increase downlink speeds to up to 10Mbps throughout Mexico City and the surrounding areas.

Telmex previously revealed a similar upgrade, with speed increases widely viewed as a means to stave off increased competition in the sector.
