Ecuador passes 2 million fixed lines

According to Ecuador’s telecoms supervisory body Suptel, the country had 2.01 million fixed lines in service at the end of the year, which translates to a teledensity of 14.4 percent, up by 0.9 percentage points in 12 months, TeleGeography CommsUpdate reported.

According to Suptel, state-run national PSTN operator Corporacion Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CNT) held on to more than 90 percent of the market with 1.81 million fixed line customers.
