Peru may provide fourth wireless license

Peru believes it will attract a fourth mobile telephony operator this year, according to a story in BNamericas, which cites the local paper Gestion. 

The government's previous attempt to award 25MHz of spectrum in the 1900MHz band failed to attract any bidders, however, the bidding process has been extended after previously prequalified companies – Kuwaiti firm HITS Telecom and local telco Americatel – declined to present offers.
