Huawei secures Telenor Denmark backhaul contract

Chinese telecoms equipment vendor Huawei Technologies signed a contract with Telenor Denmark for the rollout of a mobile backhaul commercial network.

The deployment of the IEEE 1588v2 standard will allow Telenor to modernize the network to Long Term Evolution technology, according to TeleGeography CommsUpdate.

The two companies started the deployment, with Telenor’s Danish customers expected to benefit from the new technology later this year.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, the Danish wireless unit of Norwegian telecoms group Telenor has been the country’s second largest mobile operator behind Mobile Nordic since launching in 1992.
