French La Poste seeks MVNO venture with SFR

French state-owned postal service, La Poste, is in exclusive talks with mobile operator SFR to launch a mobile virtual network operator service under the La Poste brand.

In a prepared statement La Poste said that should an agreement be reached with Vivendi subsidiary SFR, a new company would be created in which La Poste would hold a majority stake. Financial details have not been disclosed.
