Telia Installs LTE Base Station
May 26, 2009

Sweden's TeliaSonera has installed the first base station in its new mobile network using Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. The base station is located in Stockholm, and TeliaSonera says it intends to cover the city with LTE enabled sites operating in the 2.6GHz band by the end of the current quarter.

The new network is expected to be offered commercially next year. The station was deployed under a rollout contract awarded to Ericsson in January.
