Argentine mobile operator Personal, a subsidiary of fixed-line incumbent Telecom Argentina, has launched an MVNO service in Uruguay under the brand name Telecom Personal. The MVNO operates on mobile operator Ancel’s infrastructure, the mobile arm of state-owned telco Antel. The MVNO will start of with mobile telephony and SMS services.

Personal had earlier announced the acquisition of US telecoms company Springville and intends to use its platform to offer mobile phone services in Uruguay.
